Crazy Moves Dance Studio has proudly provided dance classes to the Emmett, MI community for over 20 years!
From our very first recital, our mission has stayed consistent. Our team is dedicated to developing amazing, confident dancers ready to tackle any challenge.
Each week, we welcome over 100 students through our studio doors! Crazy Moves Dance Studio is a place where kids come to be inspired, learn new skills, and grow more confident!

Mazzy Snay
Crazy Moves Dance Studio Owner & Instructor
Miss Mazzy began dancing when Crazy Moves Dance Studio first opened in 2004, at the little age of 3. She was one of our dance studio’s first toddlers! She took her tiny steps into the dance world with Crazy Moves, all the way until her graduating performance in 2019. In her time at Crazy Moves, she performed (twice!) at the Lions' Thanksgiving Half-Time, countless times at local festivals, and was a proud member of the competitive team for many years.
After graduating, Miss Mazzy attended Oakland University, and during her time there, she taught at 2nd Street Studio of Dance. She loved being a part of a new studio that taught her many new tricks of the dance world. While at 2nd Street, Miss Mazzy was also a part of Diversiform Dance Project, a professional dance company based out of the studio, in their inaugural year. Miss Mazzy, coming from our small town studio, never thought that such opportunities would be achievable in Michigan, and now hopes to bring and encourage these opportunities to her students.
In 2022, Miss Mazzy returned home and participated in Crazy Moves’ First Ever Alumni Dance. It was after one of these class rehearsals that Miss Mazzy was formally asked by Miss MacKenzie Hein, Crazy Moves’ previous studio owner, and Miss Jessica Leenknegt, Crazy Moves’ first studio owner, if she would like to take over the dance studio. It was a no-brainer YES.
At the age of 21, Miss Mazzy took over Crazy Moves Dance Studio. She has been running it with love and passion ever since! In her time as owner, she has hosted guest teachers for dance workshops, brought students to professional ballet shows and dance conventions, and has thrown fun parties and events for students of all ages to enjoy. She has also revitalized the parent/guardian experience at Crazy Moves: bringing new tech to the studio, like our Jackrabbit system, which makes registrations and family billing a breeze, an all-new and regularly updated website to find everything you may need, and an easy-to-use app, perfect for getting notifications for events like snow days and PJ dress up week!
After taking over the dance studio with only roughly 40 students (a result of a post-COVID world), Miss Mazzy has tripled that number in just 4 short years. She is always looking for the best ways to create a better dance experience, not just for her dancers, but for every person who comes through our studio doors. Tricia MacDonald
INSTRUCTOR & COSTUME MANAGER
Tricia started dance as an adult and has grown a passion she never thought she would have dreamed, all of her children have been a part of the studio as well. Tricia has grown into being a teacher and loves teaching ballet, lyrical, and pointe! She is excited to continue to learn and grow to ensure a fun and learning opportunity with her students. Tricia is also crazy about costumes, so Miss Mazzy is teaching her the ropes on ordering and checking them over for recital-ready. Tricia can't wait to be a part of your dancing future!!

Kara Horgan
INSTRUCTOR
Kara has been dancing since the ripe age of 3, with 29 years of ballet under her belt. She also has experience in jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and musical theatre. Miss Kara has been a part of Crazy Moves since it’s opening in 2004 and has been a dancer, student teacher, and instructor all along. She has enjoyed sharing the love of dance with students and growing their knowledge of all styles, and now introducing it to her own daughter! She can’t wait to meet you and help you grow your love of dance!

Elizabeth MacDonald
FRONT DESK
Elizabeth has been dancing at Crazy Moves since she was 3 years old and loves the family she has found in its staff and fellow dancing families. She does many different styles of dance, including Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Lyrical, and Pointe! Elizabeth has also danced in Hip Hop and tap when she was younger. She is always open to learning new and cool things. In recent years, Elizabeth has begun working at the front desk of Crazy Moves Dance Studio and loves her job. She hopes that you’ll find dance just as enjoyable as she does!

Jordan Wessel
INSTRUCTOR
JoJo started dancing at Crazy Moves when she was 7 years old. She was hooked on competition from the start and competed with Crazy Moves for 5 years. She brought home the first placing for our studio with her solo in 2022. She now continues her dance career at St. Clair County Community College. Her favorite styles are tap and hip-hop but she also has experience in jazz, musical theater, modern/contemporary, lyrical, ballet, and pointe. She hopes that your student is able to find their passion for dance and is able to express themselves at our studio.

Josephine Brinker
FRONT DESK & INSTRUCTOR
Miss Josie began dancing at just 4 years old. She has been dancing at a mix of local studios for 15 years, many of which taking place at Crazy Moves Dance Studio. In those 15 years, she gained competiton experience in a range of styles for six years. She has been a part of many local ballet companies and shows, one of the most locally well-known being The Port Huron Nutcracker Company. Miss Josie is Ready Set Dance and Ready Set Move with Me certified, meaning she can teach students as young as walking age on up! She is a part of our desk staff and is also a first-year teacher.

Gabby Flynn
COMPETITION DIRECTOR
Miss Gabby started dancing back in 2004 and has been dancing with Crazy Moves since 2005. She participated in the competition dance team from 2007 on, until graduating. Her love is for ballet, but she spent many years doing lyrical, modern, and jazz. She took a brief break from dancing to study law at college, and now, she’s back! She has the amazing opportunity to teach our competition team and take our wonderful CMDS students to multiple stages across Michigan.

Shannon Preister
FRONT DESK
Shannon began dancing at age 5, and eventually taught classes as her passion for dance shown. Later, she began performing for USO productions as well as in local community theatre productions, including “The Music Man” and “Once Upon A Mattress”. She returned briefly to tap classes during the early years of her daughter’s dancing adventures. Now fully retired, she has returned to tap dancing with her daughter and granddaughter, while working the front desk at Crazy Moves Dance Studio.
